Just another day in GOP insanity

Michelle Bachmann isn’t the only person threatening violence:

Texas Sen. John Cornyn is threatening “World War III” if Democrats try to seat Al Franken in the Senate before Norm Coleman can pursue his case through the federal courts.

More on the GOP love of war (from Thinkprogress)

CALLER: All of y’all hyped that to a degree that was just unimaginable. Even President Bush admitted there were no weapons of mass destruction there. In lieu of that fact — being the fact that there are 4,500 American lives lost there — will you personally apologize to those folks right now? Simple yes or no. Thank you.

KRISTOL: No. I think the war was right, and I think we’ve succeeded in the war. And I think those lives — we should honor those soldiers who gave their lives and who fought so hard, and also were wounded for what they did.

You don’t have to be a senator to be insane:

March 27, 2009 — ‘Sarah Palin: Poised to Become America’s First Female President’ by Recaldo Ochoa aims to debunk the false persona that he suggests was created by the press to discredit Palin and ruin her chances of success.

When Palin was announced as John McCain’s running mate, Ochoa was determined to learn more about her. He wrote this book to defend her against attacks on her intelligence and character during and after the presidential election. In chapter after chapter, Ochoa delves into Palin’s personal and public life, including her work as governor of Alaska, where he feels she put her career on the line fighting for the interests of the people she represents. “She may be a hockey mom,” states Ochoa, “but she has the intelligence, judgment and leadership ability to lead the country.”

we know how Bill O’Reilly saves his money

THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER: ARE THERE ACTORS WHOSE POLITICAL OPINIONS DISTURB YOU SO MUCH YOU WON’T SEE THEIR MOVIES?

O’Reilly: Just Sean Penn.

THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER: SOMEONE WILL READ THAT AND ACCUSE YOU OF ENCOURAGING A NEW BLACKLIST ERA.

O’Reilly: Not at all. He’s a great actor, and if you hire him, you’ll get a good performance. I’m just not going to give a guy who gives aid and comfort to people like (Iran president Mahmoud) Ahmadinejad, Hugo Chavez and Saddam Hussein, when he was alive, my 10 bucks. That’s my right as an American.

So much for running a sports team into the ground

ARLINGTON, Texas — Former President George W. Bush will throw out the ceremonial first pitch on Opening Day for the Texas Rangers.

  1. “I’m just not going to give a guy like BILL O’REILLY my 10(or $1.95)bucks. That’s my right as an American.”i think Bill has a good idea. I’m gonna write his sponsors. It’s my right as an American.

  2. With these people around, the comics in this country will never run out of material.

  3. Another great case of its not the heat its the stupidity. You can’t make this crap up!

  4. It is amazing to me the stupidity that oozes from them all. I know we have some real winners in the party of D also… but it’s like they plan it on the “right” side… it seems to start at the top and work it’s way down.

  5. They just won’t go away. Hope W was booed, but I know they probably applauded him after the secret service kept the folks with more than two neurons out of the stadium.

  6. I am so embarrassed that GOP John Cornyn is my Senator.Every time I see him on the news, I cringe waiting to hear what ridiculous statement he’ll make. He’s been having an affair with his administrative assistant forever–I wish someone would bust him on that and get him out of the Senate.

  7. You all wish you had a cool senator like my Voinovich who shared a stage with Bootsy Collins last week. Bring the funk.

  8. Being socially retarded does not preclude one from getting a poke in the cocksucker for spouting inflammatory rhetoric.

  9. To me, that’s an embarassment about that Ochoa guy’s praise of Palin. It’s sad to see a fellow Latino pulling that crap!
