The new crop of GOP women are nothing short of….
insane. Especially Sharron Angle
“Right now, we say in a traditional home one parent stays home with the children and the other provides the financial support for that family,” she said. “That is the acceptable and right thing to do. If we begin to expand that, not only do we dilute the resources that are available, we begin to dilute things like health care, retirement, all the things offered to families that help them be a family.”
The peculiar ideology of Sharron Angle, the Republican nominee challenging Sen. Harry Reid in Nevada, is perhaps no better illustrated than by her embrace of the patriot group Oath Keepers, whose membership of uniformed soldiers and police take an oath to refuse orders they see as unconstitutional — including enforcement of gun laws, violations of states’ sovereignty, and “any order to blockade American cities, thus turning them into giant concentration camps.”
Angle believes the U.S. Education Department should be abolished, as she explains on her campaign Web site: “Sharron Angle believes that the Federal Department of Education should be eliminated. The Department of Education is unconstitutional and should not be involved in education, at any level.”
then there is Social Security, nuclear waste, suing Harry Reid, calling the unemployed spoiled.
And worse – there is a good chance she will be elected.
The trouble with Sharron Angle is this country is insane

"Right now, we say in a traditional home one parent stays home with the children and the other provides the financial support for that family," she said. "That is the acceptable and right thing to do. If we begin to expand that, not only do we dilute the resources that are available, we begin to dilute things like health care, retirement, all the things offered to families that help them be a family."You know Ms. Angle may have special powers– to TIME TRAVEL because that was the scenario back in the 50's. Turns out since then corporations don't pay enough for one person to stay home & still have health insurance & a pension (pensions? those are gonesville– it's all 401k now & Wall Street did a number on those!). It's all "at will employment" and pay freezes, cut backs & doing more, often way more, with less. No more griping about it either, because the new mantra is "you're lucky to have a job". Angle is certifiably insane.

Hate to say it but as the economy declines (which it will in the long term because we're competing with a diminishing amount of resources with China, India and other countries) it's only going to get crazier. My advice is to do what some of the Jews in Germany did in the 1930s. Draw a line in the sand and have a backup plan in case that line is crossed.

toujoursdan;Excellent advise, and something I am considering for me and my family.Being older and the primary source of income which like so many others is not "secure", my mind is thinking Plan B.

I am guessing that slappz didn't so much defend Angle as rant about Reid, Obama, and Democrats in general. I don't think I've heard ANYONE actually defend this loon's (er, Angle I mean…but if the shoe fits, slappz…) positions. She is merely a high (low?) watermark for the power of anti-incumbent sentiment. The only silver lining in all this (tarnished, certainly) is that she is already doing the standard political game of moving to the center between primary and general election. Her tea-party pitched platform has already been revised on her website. Maybe like Mass. Sen. Brown, she too will earn the ire of Teabaggers as she abandons unsupportable extreme political positions once (if!) elected. We can at least hope.

If that's her angle, I suggest Ms. Angle set an example and stay home, leaving the position of running government for a qualified individual.

i don't think she's going to win. she's always either hiding out, or she's flapping her lips saying something more stupid than the last thing she said. there are a lot of retirees in nevada, and they aren't going to embrace her stand on social security. i don't think a lot of women will like her thoughts on rape and incest victims who become impregnated having to have give birth. i also doubt that a lot of nevadans are too excited about yucca mountain glowing in their direction. her supporters may be loud, but i don't think they'll get her elected. bungy makes an excellent point. the more she is forced to move to the middle, the more teabagging support she'll lose.

"Right now, we say in a traditional home one parent stays home with the children and the other provides the financial support for that family,"Nice, if you can still find a full time job that pays a living wage for a family of four, but everybody I know has two incomes (and sometimes three and four) just to keep afloat.

So if Ms. Angle wins, will her husband quit his job so he can raise the kids? And good on kicking slappz to the curb. He's a shit stirrer.

Her latest diatribe is to say,If a young girl gets raped you have to use that as an opportunity. It's like making lemonade out of lemons. This woman is crazy and if it were up to me..she should be shot in the face. I don't advocate violence though..I have no doubt she will be elected and so will Carly and Bachmann.I ask this all the time, what the hell is wrong with people who vote for them..

As you know, I kind of stopped watching political shows on TV to keep my head from exploding.Fortunately, my new practice has kept me reasonably in the dark about this Angle broad. All I need to know is, she's a conservative Republican woman, so she's gotta be as nuts as Palin and Bachmann.Right?

All these stay home advocates should do just that – stay home. Remember Phyllis?

And then we can all just take our guns and shoot the shit out of everything. And I agree with tnlib. Let's apply Angle's ideology to her and see how she likes it.

The repulse-icans have pretty much made most of the country think that "liberal" is defined as money-burning gay wimp freak. When are we going to establish the fact that "republican" pretty much means batshit crazy?
